MIAAO - Museo Internazionale delle Arti Applicate Oggi

The design of the MIAAO, International Museum of Applied Arts Today was formed in 2003 after the success of metropolitan Craftsman, an event celebrating the centenary of the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative Art in Turin in 1902. Museum, housed in the church of San Filippo Blacks and divided into two galleries, the first gallery, which is located on the first floor, is called Soprana and was inaugurated in November 2005, it houses the museum's permanent collection. The second gallery on the ground floor, said Sottana, was opened to the public in November 2006, the date that marks the beginning of a regular exhibition program of the museum, to house temporary exhibitions. MIAAO is the only facility in Italy dedicated to these arts of design, and its mission is also directed to preserving excellence of the Piemonte Region.
