They are the most direct and tangible evidence of the historical events of the Academy of Fine Arts, the Napoleonic heir of the national institution, which was founded in 1804, preceded the National Art Gallery (1882), held in the same building. In the main hall, the former Church of St. Ignatius adapted and used as a library, contains two paintings by Giacomo Pavia and Felice Torelli, and the Allegory of Fame Marcantonio Franceschini and the two busts of Clement XI and Cardinal Aldrovandi, performed respectively by Augustine Cornacchini (attr.) and Bernardino Ludovisi (1728) are set out in the Sala Clementina, proper organization of exhibitions of objects of small size. In the adjoining room of Courland, home of Clementine, born in 1710 under the protection of Pope Clement XI, is the Monument to Peter the Duke of Courland, executed by James De Maria, designed by Angelo Venturoli. In the hallway of the offices are placed terracotta reliefs of premiums Marsigli eighteenth-Aldrovandi.
