Giardino Bardini

Where de' Bardi, 1/R, Firenze

The Bardini Garden was built in stages from the Middle Ages into two main stages. The first phase is a late Baroque in which the central part of the garden, which was already characterized by a large scale, has been decorated and embellished with statues and the great wall-fountain in the west thanks to the efforts of Giulio Mozzi who was an expert in botanical gardens and art enthusiast. The second is the nineteenth century: the owner of the west side of the garden Jacques Louis Le Blanc Anglo-Chinese garden transforms into the top part of the garden towards the walls: this work it is possible to admire the great channel of the dragon. So the antiquarian Stefano Bardini (owner since 1913) and his son Hugh, still enrich the garden with fountains and statues. After the restoration was completed in 2007, you can admire important collections of plants, camellias, hydrangeas, azaleas, roses. From the Belvedere you contemplate one of the most stunning views of Florence.
