Ca' Corner della Regina

The Palace was built in place of existing buildings by the will of the Corner family, in the eighteenth century, by the architect Domenico Rossi. After the noble family, the building was converted into the Pawnshop and, from 1975 to 2010, hosted the Historical Archive of Contemporary Arts of the Biennale of Venice. It is a Modulated building on three levels with loft, very slender. The main entrance is a round arch over a white ashlar that characterizes the first level and the mezzanine, inspired by the Renaissance facades. The first of the two main floors is crossed by a balustrade, above which are placed seven arched windows with mask in key, separated by semi-Ionic. A wide string course divides this level from the second floor, which has seven regular windows of rectangular shape, topped by a tympanum and separated by large Corinthian semi-columns.
